There are some things you never want to hear come out of your wife’s mouth.
“Derek, what are the signs of a stroke?” is one such thing. We rushed down to the ER.
The good news? It wasn’t a stroke. Not sure what it was, but the docs are pretty sure it wasn’t a stroke.
The bad news? The Wife had to spend the weekend in the hospital. We don’t do well apart. And she had a “challenging” roommate.
Then MIL had to go in for planned surgery. She came home after a couple of nights, but it was a long couple of nights.
The cats were not pleased with all the disruptions to their lives.
We’ve spent way too much time at the hospital.

Ive been there. My wife has had a serries of set backs health wise starting over 20 years ago. We both hate the hospital with a passion. I tend to stay with my wife in a chair next to her bed on the ocasions she has to stay overnight. The anxiety for her is just too much if I’m not there to let her know shes ok. Our cats dont like the lonely nights either. Good luck, I hope she improves steadily and this was just a minor hicup. Some things that can act like a stroke but are not. My wife has a condition where the blood vessels in her brain are just too small. She has been on a vasseldialator for 20 years now. But sudden rises in blood preasure can cause the capilaries to crack or spit and blood leaks into the brain. Its not considered to be a stroke, I guess because none of the vessels are blocked? But the bleed causes very stroke like symptoms as it presses on the brain. The worse the bleed the worse the symptoms, but thankfully they are only temporary. I could not even begin to diagnose what happened to your wife. But this may be worth researching if it happens again. Some alergic reactions can do the same as far as symptoms. As well as bacterial infections in the spice or cerebelum?(sp?) I wish you the best regardless
